I’ve been unhealthily obsessed with the TTC strike for a couple days now and with the Work-to-rule campaign, I’m even more so now. I’d share my thoughts with you, but you can just see that on my Twitter feed. I’ll spare you that much, but I won’t spare you this:

The mentality of these workers in the public sector is ludicrous. First the City of Toronto workers, then the TTC workers. The only two in Toronto striking. You don’t see this in the public sector. Why? A few reasons:

1. Apathy: Union workers tend to become more lazy and used to their fat pay cheques. They tend to demand more for nothing. his doesn’t happen in the private sector. Why? They expect results.

2. The NDP Party: More specifically, Jack Layton. These guys continually reinforce my first point. They bow down to the union worker and forget about the rest of this country. There’s more to this country outside Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. There’s a difference between giving a worker their rights and giving them more than they deserve.

3. Entitlement: This kinda ties into point number one, but it’s worth mentioning separately. No one should get something for nothing, but that’ what’s going on here. If I went to work on an overnight shift and slept I would be fired. Hands down. The guy in this photo was only suspended. Why? I can’t even explain that one. He’ probably been doing it for so long, he thought it was okay. It’s not okay. Since when did we think we could do whatever we want whenever we want on the job and expect more? This is fucking ass-backwards!
